There’s been a lot of talk about Apple’s control over their device. I have to admit I was pretty frustrated when this happened.
By a lot of folks’ standards Apple keeps too tight a tight leash on what happens with the iPhone and in the App Store.
Here’s an argument against Apple’s grip on it’s product by my friend Matt Lumpkin.
All that to say that I commend Apple for their move to remove apps that amount to pornography from their store. Control, in this case, is good.

Heather, Sam’s ‘special friend‘, turned one-year-old last week.

As you can see, she’s been picking up bad habits from her dad.

Nothing like an exam to snap me out of my Christmas Break fog.
I’m taking New Testament 2 this semester with PhD student Mike Baker. I’ll be tested over both the Corinthians, both Thessalonians, and Galatians in a couple of days.
Incidentally, I found the required text on a discount rack. It was priced significantly cheaper than sticker price. The only thing, however, is that is the Spanish edition. I bought it. We’ll see if the money saved is worth the inability to speed read it.

Apparently, my body didn’t get quite enough rest leading into day one of church planter training.
By early afternoon it sort of felt like my cabeza weighed about 83 pounds.
The training, however, was excellent. Each new facet of church planting we turned to left realizing just how much I didn’t know (but thought that I did!).
Also, we’re getting to know some amazing folks. We’re hearing stories of faith that make us want to live more recklessly for Jesus.

Amanda and I arrived to the country music capital of the world at around 10pm last nite. This was after some intense negotiations with our mechanic. Incidentally, Amanda is fully convinced she saw Tim McGraw’s house on the way in.
We begin a three day church planting training with the TBC this morn.
I’ll keep you updated.

We recently became members of the Children’s Museum of Memphis.
One of many attractions offered is a caged toilette.
There is also a scale model of the Mississippi River.
Also, there is a little Kroger.
