We spent the day yesterday debriefing each summer missionary individually. As you can imagine . . . when you put three people in the middle of the Andes mtns with no showers, McDonalds, hair dryers, cable, etc., etc. . . . conflicts arise.
Last night we all met together to worship Jesus.
Mike said-
Jesus said that we if our brother has something against us, to leave our gift at the alter and go make things right. God has an agenda for tonight. Let´s see what he does.
And people just started praying and reading the word and getting up and asking for forgiveness from people and giving forgiveness. It was awesome! God did it. God was changing hearts right and left. It was awesome.
Thanks Jesus.

We arrived in Nazca last night…..the land of the mysterious Nazca lines.
The teams arrived today…..some of them to take their first shower of the summer.
You won´t believe this, but one team arrived with their 2 dogs, 6 parrots, and monkey in tow!

A group from AWE-STAR Ministries (http://www.awestar.org) made it to Lima last night. They’ll be spending the next several months working in two areas in Arequipa.
I spent the day with them, helping to get them ready for village life. This group is YOUNG. The average age is 18. The oldest being 21 and the youngest being 16.

Well, the U.S. is done. Didn’t make it quite as far as everyone (me) had hoped . . . oh well there’s always 2010.
Italy had to beat CR and we had to beat Ghana. We didn’t hold up our end of the deal.
Shucks!

U.S. staying alive in the World Cup

“Everyone has World Cup Fever”
. . . at least in South America. And despite the fact the Peru is not even in the world cup it is probably the most talked about topic in Lima right now. EVERYONE is watching. EVERYONE has there team they are cheering for.
Me. I am loving it. I learned to appreciate soccer four years ago when I lived with a Korean and the World Cup was held in Korea. There is nothing like waking up at 2a.m to a Korean screaming his head off at the television!
Of course, my team is the U.S. They have a chance to make it past the preliminaries . . . but we have to beat Ghana Thursday.
Latin America is definitely making its mark – Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, and of course the defending world champions, Brazil.

Right now we are really focussing on English Fellowship. Two girls about our age have come to Lima to become part of the English Fellowship team. Sarah will be staying until December and Kara will be here until August.
We had a big fiesta today to kick-off the new schedule. We had a ton of people and it went really well. I’ll try to get some photos up soon.
Check out the English Fellowship website to see more of what we’re doing. www.englishfellowship.net

We are officially back in the land of Guinea Pig and Maccu Piccu. We’re both kind of sad. But, it’s also good to be back in our own bed. Wilson is definitely happy to back on his own turf.
I guess the hardest part was saying bye to my good friend Jermaine Tylor. Here’s a picture of me and him at the airport. We’re both holding back the tears. . .
