This is our last day at the screening conference. This evening is when decisions are made. We commit to our top three jobs. Amanda and I have tried to be open. We came in thinking Peru, and we really haven’t felt any difference thus far.
God’s will. Hmm. They are stressing making “good decisions.” We look at timing, whether the job mathces, personality, spiritual maturity, emotional and physical health, and a few other things to try to make the best decision possible. There have been no visions or dreams or prophetic messages . . . just trying to be obedient everyday and discern where God is leading. We feel a mixture of excitement/anticipation and sadness.
It boils down this: we have to trust God in where he is leading us . . . despite feelings, despite dreams, despite wants, despite desires, despite plans, despite needs. It’s about obedience. He is our sufficiency. He is our portion.

THE MESSAGE IS AS TRUE AMONG YOU TODAY AS WHEN YOU FIRST HEARD IT. IT DOESN’T DIMINISH OR WEAKEN OVER TIME. IT’S THE SAME ALL OVER THE WORLD. [COL.1]
Woke up with my mind racing. One thing you can’t miss being here at the Missionary Learning Center is the fact that it is based on one single thing. The Message of Christ. It’s all over the walls. It’s all they talk about. It’s the whole reason we are here: Living and spreading the message. So much so that if The Message turned out to be some fairy tale or lie, then all this would be in vain, a waste. That’s how I want my life to be. I want to live this life, live the Message in a such a way that my whole life will have been wasted if this Message turns out to be phony.

We made it to Richmond. The day started out exciting when our airport parking shuttle had a head on collision with a van. We got to the Missionary Learning Center at around 9:00pm, had a sandwich, and now we are in the library sending a few emails. It is so exciting to be here! To see what is going to happen.

We fly out of LR this Tuesday (Oct. 5th) for ISC screening conference at the IMB headquarters in Richmond. What a whirlwind. Despite fears, sadness, worries, excitement, and just emotions in general, we believe that God is calling us to live for Him in Peru. We have long since learned that the important thing to God’s heart is the condition of our heart and the outflow into action . . . no matter where we are. And we have been trying to do that…….to be serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ. But now, it seems that he wants us to live this new light-life a little farther south. We are excited and scared and sad . . . but above all that we are confident in the power and love and mission of Christ. So we’re off . . . to be “screened.”
