Spanish.
| March 20th, 2005We have to learn Spanish. Apparently that is what we are getting paid to do…at least for the next two months….then it’s on to “ministry.” Now . . . it’s Spanish.
Here are a few fun idioms I’ve learned thus far:
-Ciao Pascado! = (lit. bye fish) see you later alligator
-No hay pedo! = (lit. there is no fart) everything’s ok, no problem, don’t worry; this one isn’t really used in Peru, I just like it.
-Querer es poder. = (lit. to want is to do) where there’s a will, there’s a way
-A otro perro con ese hueso. = (lit. to another dog with that bone) stop pulling my leg
-Por un pelito de rana. = (lit. the hair of the frog) by the skin of my teeth
